Your first week abroad: a practical checklist
Day 1–2
Collect your residence card or biometric permit, buy a local SIM and confirm your accommodation.
Day 3–4
Register with the local authority if required, and book an appointment to open a bank account.
Day 5–7
Complete university enrolment, register with a doctor and, for families, start the school registration for your children.
