Why Nigerian families are choosing Sweden over the UK
For years the UK was the default for Nigerians studying abroad. Tighter dependant rules and rising costs have changed that, and families are now looking for routes that let them move together without spending everything up front.
You pay in instalments, not all at once
Swedish universities bill tuition per term. With a university scholarship, the first instalment can be heavily reduced, and the balance is spread across the rest of the programme while you are already studying.
Your children school for free
Public schooling in Sweden is free for children of residence-permit holders, which removes one of the biggest costs families face abroad.
Your partner can work
Spouses on a dependant permit can work full time, which makes the monthly budget far easier to manage.
Admissions for the June start open on 15 October and close in February. The earlier you start, the more scholarships are still available.
